Jericho" the TV series premiered in 2006 and got canceled after only one season due to poor rating but hard core fans of the show managed to encourage the network to bring the show back for another season.
Executive producer for the series Jon Turteltaub spoke to iF Magazine , saying that a feature film is en route and that the original cast will be involved.

Last time CBS tried to cancel the apocalyptic series, "Jericho" fans famously and successfully joined forces and flooded the network's offices with peanuts (in reference to the first season's finale) insisting that the show remained on the air.
We listened to our viewers, gave the series an opportunity to grow, and the producers put a great story on the screen.

We knew Goetz's days were numbered after the horrific events of last week , but "Jericho" really knows how to kick a villain when he's down.
I'm not big on the whole vengeance-killings-in-entertainment concept, but last night's "Jericho" made it work, thanks to the sensitive performance of series regular Brad Beyer (as Stanley) and the loathsome turn from recurring guest D.B. Sweeney (as Goetz).

Lennie James, who plays Robert Hawkins, is a great actor.....Jericho is an intriguing change of pace, a civil war.....My favorite scenes are any scenes with Lennie and Skeet together.....He is a great character but the series is full of great characters.....Last week's episode Reconstruction was a bit of a letdown but this episode is taking the series into an interesting direction..... ...
