Joss Whedon's "internet musical," Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog , stayed at #1 on iTunes for some 5 weeks, its soundtrack hit the top 40 on the Billboard charts, and it was named one of the best inventions of 2008 by Time magazine.
Although Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog runs about 42 minutes, the film is endlessly rewatchable (including watching it with both commentaries, I've watched it 5 times since Christmas), and the added value of the special features makes the purchase of this DVD well worth the $1 ... Full Review

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog took the Internet by storm during the WGA strike, and in addition to being heavily downloaded, the CD and DVD sales have been exceptional.
There was Dr. Horrible itself, and there was the Internet sort of event, and I'm pursuing both of those kind of separately, in the sense that I want to tell a Dr. Horrible story, but I also want to continue trying new things on the Internet," Whedon added, somewhat cryptically.

You'll laugh, you'll cry....
But it adds new levels of comic absurdity, as Dr. Horrible, a challenging role played to perfection by Neil Patrick Harris, shares the screen with a cowboy chorus and blogs about his evil plans until he realizes the authorities can see blogs and foil said plans.

You just can't keep a good super-villain down.
For those who can't get enough of the musical's wonderful songs, Whedon announced at Comic-Con that a Dr. Horrible soundtrack will be available on iTunes within the next two weeks.

He was talking about the success of Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog , his three-act, Internet-only flick about a lovelorn wannabe-supervillain with a penchant for breaking out into song.
Titular star Neil Patrick Harris (pictured, with Nathan Fillion) also took the stage along with his costars - a hammy Fillion (superhero nemesis Captain Hammer), the charming Felicia Day (the object of their affection), and super-quiet Simon Helberg (Horrible's hapless roommate/sidekick).

Such is the case with his fun little jaunt known as Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog .
The story is deliciously silly, yet when we get to the end, we are reminded just how skillful Whedon is at exploring our human foibles, which makes the story explode into something larger than it at first seems.
