Gary could be the funny father in any series, and has nothing to do with the concept of Aliens in America .
Whether it has to do with Patterson's presence leading the show in a different direction or not, it feels as though Aliens in America is losing some of the spark it had in the initial episodes.

Kalyan proves he has some great comic muscles in this episode - watching him lie his way into a corner is one of the best moments of the show so far.
Doing such a thing is, at first, beyond Raja - which leads to some truly hilarious moments.

October 9, 2007 - Aliens in America had a strong pilot because it focused on the show's essential premise, which is the fear and misunderstanding surrounding Muslims in the average American household.
It's clever moments like this, that work on multiple levels, that display the show's great promise.
